About

I am a visual journalist who, after the rapid decline of newsrooms in the mid-2000s, decided to explore other forms of photography and discover new ways of visual expression.

When my two boys were nearing the end of high school, I decided to return to school as a forty-something to pursue my passion for storytelling. I attended Cal State LA, where I double-majored in Journalism and TV, Film & Media. Currently, I'm earning my master's degree at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.

My work spans video production, photojournalism, and audio journalism, most recently with the San Quentin Film Festival, Cal State LA's communications team, and The Prism Way, a nonprofit serving system-impacted individuals, where I produced video podcasts.

My work has been recognized by the Los Angeles Press Club, College Media Association, and California College Media Association.

I am a multimedia journalist dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. With over two decades of experience behind the lens, my versatility as a storyteller allows me to move fluidly between hard news and feature work, from investigating legislative impacts on working families to covering NASA technology and profiling restorative justice programs. I approach each story with the understanding that journalism is most powerful when it serves as a tool for understanding, accountability and change.
